Online plumbing store: sizes, fittings, sets

The development of an online store of sanitary ware rests on two questions of the buyer: will it fit into my bathroom and will it fit my eyeliner. The answer to them is not given by the description of the product, but by the directory of sizes and types of connection, so the project starts with it. Next, the rest of the niche items fall into place: the complete set in the card, compatible items next to each other, separate conditions for heavy goods, a group column for installers. How much of this already lies in your data fields, and how much will have to be restored from the texts, shows the measurement of the catalog.

What's included

Complete list of work and what you get as a result

  • Catalog by product type and room: the buyer enters the bathroom from two sides - from the "faucet mixer" and from the "renovation of the bathroom".
  • The size, center distance and diameter of the connection are separate numeric fields - the "fits in my niche" filter is collected only from them.
  • The "what's in the box" block in the card: mount, siphon, eyeliner - right under the price, not the third paragraph of the description.
  • Compatible items next to the product: for installation - button and toilet, for bath - frame, siphon and screen; the manager no longer dictates it by voice.
  • Sets with a separate card with its own price and balance - if you really keep them in the warehouse as one item.
  • Schemes and drawings in the gallery next to the photo: in plumbing, the buyer checks them, not the rendering.
  • A sign of a heavy product that turns on its delivery methods at the checkout and shows the conditions even in the card.
  • Two price columns: the retail one is visible to everyone, the wholesale one is open to the authorized installer throughout the catalog.
  • Payment and delivery for niches: online card, invoice with and without VAT, cash on delivery, Nova Poshta, address delivery, self-delivery.
  • Technical SEO and markup: CNC, canonical, unique title, sitemap that actually gives addresses, JSON-LD Product, Offer and breadcrumbs.
  • Transfer: access, written instructions for your processes and passing the admin check with the manager until he starts the product himself.
When this service isn't right

What's not included — so there are no surprises at delivery

  • Filling in sizes and configurations throughout the catalog is a separate line of the estimate with its own deadline.
  • Installation and service as an operational process: we describe the rules, you leave.
  • 3D designer of the bathroom is a separate task and a separate budget.
  • Post-launch advertising and promotion.
  • Hosting, domain, acquiring — are arranged for you.
Who it's for

Situations where this service delivers results

Scenario 1 of 5

You are selling what should physically fit

Baths, shower cabins, vanity units, installations. A person comes with a tape measure and a niche size, not a model name. If the length and height cannot be specified in the filter with a number, she flips through a hundred cards and goes to the place where she was counted.

We'll review your situation in a free audit

Free plumbing catalog audit

In plumbing, the product is returned not because it is bad, but because it did not stand up or was not suitable for connection. The audit answers one question: Can you put together a filter from your data that cuts out these pre-order errors — and how much work it costs.

What we measure

  • Dimensions as numbers, not textAre length, width, height, wheelbase and diameter separate values. The line "1200×700×580" in the description for the filter does not exist: it must first be separated into three fields.
  • Connection type and compatibilityAre the thread, the method of installation and the location of the eyeliner indicated. It is because of them that mixers and installations most often do not converge, and it is they that are most often missing from export.
  • Complete setIs it described what is included in the box and what is purchased separately. An incomplete set in this niche gives the buyer a second visit to the store and a bad review - with a completely normal product.
  • The actual volume of the catalogWe calculate using two methods and show the discrepancy. In the wholesale store of building materials we measured, 3,145 products came out - page by page through standard search, because the site map did not return anything.
  • Is a site map provided at all?In the same store, /sitemap.xml returned HTTP 200 with a body of zero bytes, the platform feed was also zero, and the Sitemap directive in robots.txt remained commented out from the default template.
  • Speed with a large catalogThe first response from the server and the weight of the HTML is in the heaviest category. Measured reference on the catalog of three thousand items: 547.3 ms and 212.1 KB.

What you get

  • Catalog document: actual volume, state of dimensional data and configuration, site map, markings, speed.
  • A list of parameters under the filter with an assessment of the works for each: what will be imported, and what will have to be restored.
  • The scheme of sets and compatible items - what to show together with what and where to get these connections.
  • Conversation for 30–40 minutes on the document: by points, without presentation.

Timeline: 2-4 business days from the time we receive the site address and shipment

Why is it free

Because the estimate in this niche does not specify the number of goods, but the state of the size guide, and you can see it only in the export. It takes a few days, not a few weeks. The document remains yours, even if we do not make the store.

What's next

After the audit - the amount and term by stages with calendar dates, contract, invoice, act. If the numbers show that it is not worth renovating the store now, we will say so.

Short form: your contact and site URL

  • Contract, act and 30-day warranty

Every project gets a written contract: scope, deadlines, amount, acceptance procedure. After delivery — act and invoice, then 30 calendar days of warranty.

  • Sole proprietor & bank transfer

The contractor is a registered sole proprietor. Payment by invoice with closing documents.

  • Rights & access — yours

Code, design and materials transfer to you after full payment. Domain, hosting, repository and analytics are registered to you.

  • Client portal instead of email chains

During the project you get access to a portal: contracts, invoices, acts and project status in one place.

  • European clients

Among our work — projects for Norway, Bulgaria, Moldova and Spain.

  • Verifiable numbers

Every case in the portfolio comes with a link to a live site and a technical measurement.

  • Audit first, then pricing

There is no price list on the site intentionally: the scope of the same work differs multiples between clients.

  • We say "no" when unsure

If the task isn't ours or the deadline is unrealistic — we tell you upfront.

What affects the price

Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently

  • Dimensional data statusThe main multiplier of the estimate. The dimensions are already fields — it's import and filter settings. The sizes inside the descriptions - they need to be categorized and checked, and these are weeks, not days.
  • How many parameters in the filterThree numeric fields and two lists are quick to set up. Twenty parameters with different sets of values for bathtubs, mixers and installations is a separate design, because empty fields in the filter are no less harmful than their absence.
  • Compatibility sets and linksThe connection "installation - button - toilet" is not taken anywhere on its own: it is either given by the supplier, or we make it together with your product expert. The number of such connections moves the term more strongly than the number of cards.
  • Group price levelsOne group column is customer group settings. Several levels with their discounts by category turn into a matrix that has to be checked by a live order under each combination.
  • Rules of delivery of dimensionsMarking difficult items and turning off branches for them is a day's work. The zones, the tariff of own transport and the rise to the floor are written for you and require your rules at the entrance.
  • Content statusPhotos on a uniform background and drawings from the manufacturer save weeks. The catalog, where the characteristics are in the PDF-price with a picture, is disassembled manually - this is a separate line of work.
Cases

Tasks and results in numbers — all metrics measured by us

wholesale building materials store

Task
Wholesale in Kyiv: catalog for thousands of items, prices according to customer levels, calculation by volume, quick repeat order for regular customers. The requirement is that the catalog remains fast with a large assortment.
Solution
OpenCart store with two language versions. WayForPay payment, cashless payment on account and cash; Nova Poshta and self-delivery. Google Tag Manager, GA4 and Google Ads remarketing with product view events are connected.
Result
Catalog 3,145 products: the figure was given by a page-by-page count using a standard search — 31 full pages of 100 items and 45 on the last page, by unique identifiers. First server response 547.3 ms, full HTML download 685.6 ms at 212.1 KB. The state at the time of measurement was recorded separately: /sitemap.xml gives HTTP 200 with a body of zero bytes, the platform feed is also empty, the Sitemap directive in robots.txt is commented from the default template, there is no structured data of any type. These are the findings of the measurement, not the result of our work. Measured on 07/31/2026, the niche is adjacent to plumbing according to the logic of the catalog: dimensions, volumes, wholesale levels.

Process steps

Transparent stages with approval at every step

Total duration:25–50 days

  1. Measurement and analysis of export

    2-4 working days

We take the indicators of the current site and look at the price: which parameters are the fields that sit in the texts, which are not there at all. The result is an audit document with numbers.

  2. TK: parameter guide

    4-7 working days

The table "category → parameters → units → field type", rules for rounding sizes, a list of what goes into the filter and what remains for reference in the card. The main document of the project.

  3. Catalog and card prototype

    3-6 working days

The path from the category to the basket: what the size filter looks like, where the configuration unit is located, where the compatible items and the product scheme are located. We agree to the design.

  4. Design and layout

    5-10 working days

Catalogue, card, basket, checkout. In this niche, density is important: the size chart and drawings must be read from the phone without magnification.

  5. Assembly: filter, kits, prices, payments

    7-14 working days

Numeric ranges in the filter, a configuration block, compatibility links, two price columns with access by cabinet, payment gateways and an account for legal entities.

  6. Import, delivery, analytics

    3-6 working days

Price mapping and schedule of price and balance updates, heavy product feature and its checkout rules, GTM and GA4 with catalog and purchase events, sitemap and JSON-LD.

  7. Live order test and transmission

    1-3 working days

We run the cycle under the retail buyer and under the installer: filter by size, set, difficult position, invoice. Next, access, instructions, and administration.

Technologies & integrations

What we build on and what it connects to

Stack

  • OpenCart 4.x is set by default: this is a branch that is being developed, and the code remains with you
  • OpenCart 3.x — if the critical module does not have a build for 4.x; the branch is getting old, so this is a compromise, not a tip
  • PHP, MySQL, nginx, HTTP/2, HTTPS — a stack that any PHP developer will pick up after us
  • OCFilter — numeric ranges by size; limit: combinations of values produce addresses, so we close them with canonical and robots
  • WebP and delayed loading are the limit: the gallery of drawings and schematics is still heavy, and the number of images has to be limited by hand
  • The limit of the entire stack: configuration and compatibility links are data, not a tick in the admin; no module will fill them in for you

Plumbing store on OpenCart vs SaaS builder

How this option differs from the alternative

Complete set in the carda separate "what's in the box" block in the card template is populated by the import
Group column for installerscustomer groups with their own prices throughout the catalog
Heavy product in checkoutproduct feature disables branch and enables address delivery

What we need from you

We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance

  1. Downloading the catalog in machine form, where the dimensions and equipment are visible - even if they are still in the text of the descriptions.
  2. A list of parameters by which buyers choose a product in your assortment: what the manager is asked most often.
  3. Rules for wholesale prices: how many levels, who can see them, under what conditions access is opened.
  4. The list of heavy and bulky items and their delivery conditions — zones, lift, pickup limit.
  5. Access to hosting and domain or consent to have hosting selected by us.
  6. One person with the right to approve the catalog structure and layouts without additional agreements.

If something is missing — let us know, we'll help you gather it or do it as a separate task.

FAQ

Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers

How to make sure that the buyer does not make a mistake with the size?

Enter the dimensions in the filter with numeric fields and duplicate them with the table in the card. The technical detail that starts it all: the range slider only works when the value is in a field of type "number". The line "1200×700×580 mm" in the description does not exist for it - it must first be broken down into length, width and height as three separate fields. For mixers, the center distance and overhang are calculated in the same way, for installations - the installation height. This does not remove the return completely: a person can still measure the niche incorrectly. The part where the size was not known before delivery is removed.

The buyer learns about the siphon already at home - what to do with it?

Place the block "what's in the box" below the price and the block "buy more than this" next to the button. In plumbing, an incomplete set is the main reason for a bad review of a normal product: the bathtub arrived, and the frame and siphon are sold separately. At the same time, the second block brings a real additional sale, because the buyer will go after these items anyway. There is only one source of data here - your provider; we will not invent the composition of the box for the manufacturer.

We have retail and installers, prices are different - how to show?

Two levels in one directory. The retail price is visible to everyone, the group price is opened after entering the office - and the master sees his column over the entire assortment, instead of asking for a price in the messenger. Technically, these are groups of customers with their own prices, the mechanism is regular, the job is to correctly set the levels and check them with a live order. A fair limit: the site closes the storefront and the price, but does not replace the contract, deferred payment and a personal manager - for large purchases, the team will still come to the person.

A cast-iron bath does not move by compartment - how to take this into account?

A product mark that enables a separate set of delivery methods at checkout and shows the conditions even in the card. The buyer should see "address shipping, pick up separately" when selecting, not at the checkout step - otherwise it's either a canceled order or a dispute after shipping. We describe the rules of zones and the tariff of our own transport together with you at the audit: we do not invent logistics, we transfer to the checkout the one that already works for you.

How to connect the installation with the button and the toilet?

Compatibility links at the data level: a list of items matching it is written to the card, and they are shown in a block next to it. This gives two things — the buyer assembles the kit himself, and the manager stops dictating compatibility by voice. Our best practice tip: don't make bundles separate items unless you keep their inventory balances as a single item. Otherwise, the site will be out of stock in a week, and the kit will contain something that is no longer there.

We have thousands of positions and almost nothing on Google - why?

Often because the search engine simply does not receive a list of addresses. In the wholesale store of building materials we measured, /sitemap.xml gave HTTP 200 with a body of zero bytes — the file formally exists, the inside is empty; the platform feed is also zero, and the Sitemap directive in robots.txt remained commented from the default template. At the same time, the catalog of 3,145 items worked. It is fixed quickly, the main thing is to notice. Fair margin: A sitemap does not rank or oblige Google to index pages, it just makes them crawlable.

How do I measure how many items I actually have?

Two independent methods and compare. The first is a site map, the second is a standard platform search with an empty query and a page count. It was the second that gave us 3,145 positions where the map did not give anything: 31 full pages of 100 products and 45 on the last one, with deduplication by identifiers. The figure from one source is unreliable: the map is overstated due to duplicate addresses and understated due to incomplete export.

How long does development take and why are there no prices on the page?

25-50 working days from the approval of TK, seven stages with a range for each. The main time is not taken by the assembly, but by the directory: extracting the parameters from the descriptions, collating the names between the suppliers, setting up the filter. The data comes in fields - the deadline is on the lower limit. There is no price on purpose, because the estimate is determined by the depth of this guide: two stores with the same number of items differ in the amount of work many times depending on where the sizes live. Therefore, first, a free audit for 2–4 days, then the amount and term by stages, a contract, an invoice, an act.

Send the catalog download - we'll see if it can be filtered by size

In response: the volume of the catalog by two methods, the state of dimensional data and equipment, speed, a list of parameters for the filter and an estimate by stages with dates.

There is no price list on the site on purpose: the same work differs several times over between two clients, and a “from” figure explains nothing in that case. First a free audit — we count your pages, duplicates and speed — then we name the sum and the deadline and fix both in the contract.
