Integration of SMS notifications: the message is sent by the store, not by the manager

The integration of SMS notifications is not necessary for mailing, but for the buyer to learn about his order without a call. The store already knows when the order has been accepted, when the status has changed, and when the parcel has left with the invoice number — it remains to teach it to report this. The main job is not to send, but to ensure that messages go only to the right events and to the right numbers: each SMS costs money, and this is where stores lose the most.

Process steps

Transparent stages with approval at every step

Total duration:5–14 days

  1. Checking events and numbers

    2–4 days

Let's see what events are already in the store, what condition the phones are in, and how many of them are suitable for sending.

  2. Operator connection

    1–3 days

We establish access, issue the sender's signature, check sending on live numbers of various operators.

  3. Store events

    2–5 days

We connect order statuses with messages, add the invoice number to the text and protection against repetitions.

  4. Availability and confirmation

    1–3 days

Notification of the arrival of the product for those who have been waiting and a confirmation code if it is required.

  5. Log and check

    1 day

A log of dispatches with operator responses and a run of all events on the actual order.

Technologies & integrations

What we build on and what it connects to

Stack

  • TurboSMS and eSputnik — sending; the choice depends on whether you need email and messengers nearby
  • Viber and Telegram as a cheaper first channel: SMS remains a fallback when there is no messenger
  • PostgreSQL - send log and replay protection: one event gives one message
  • Nova Poshta is where the invoice number comes from, which is the main content of the message
  • Rate-Limited Send Queue: On a large directory, the operator otherwise throttles the stream

Integrations

  • TurboSMS — sending SMS with the sender's own signature
  • eSputnik — when you need SMS, email and messengers in one place
  • Nova Poshta — invoice number and delivery statuses in the text of the message
  • Viber and Telegram are a cheaper channel for those who have a messenger
What's included

Complete list of work and what you get as a result

  • Connection of the SMS service with your sender's signature and verification on live numbers of various operators.
  • Notification of store events: order accepted, status changed, shipped — with the invoice number in the text.
  • Notification of the appearance of the product in stock to those who left a request: the warmest audience, which is usually not reached.
  • Confirmation code at login or check-out, if an error in the number is expensive for you.
  • Bringing phones to a single format and marking those that are not a number: without this, some messages are paid, but go nowhere.
  • Replay protection: one event is one message, even if the status has been switched several times in a row.
  • Sends log: you can see what went, to whom, when and what the operator replied.
When this service isn't right

What's not included — so there are no surprises at delivery

  • Paying for the messages themselves and the operator's tariff is a direct relationship between you and him.
  • Registration of the sender's signature: we issue it together, but on your behalf and on your documents.
  • Writing advertising texts for newsletters.
  • Purchase of telephone bases. We do not work with them in principle - this is a violation of the operators' rules and a quick way to block the signature.
Who it's for

Situations where this service delivers results

Scenario 1 of 4

Manager calls to say "shipped"

Half of the calls in the store are not sales, but status transfers. This is the most expensive way to report the invoice number, and it is the first to take time when there are more orders.

Instead of a price fork — free verification of events and numbers

SMS cost money for each message, so the question is not "how to send", but "what exactly is worth spending on." Let's see the events of the store and the state of the phones.

What we measure

  • What events are already in storeaccepted order, change of status, shipment with invoice number, return to warehouse
  • Status of buyers' numbershow many of them are in international format, how many duplicates and how many do not look like a phone at all
  • That duplicates the manager's callsome of the messages should be left to the person, and some, on the contrary, should be removed from him completely
  • Consent to messageswhether it is recorded and whether it can be shown on demand - for SMS the rules are stricter than for letters
  • What is cheaper to give to the messengerViber and Telegram cost less per SMS; SMS remains where a person does not have a messenger

What you get

  • A list of events that should be turned into messages and those that should not
  • Phone database status: how many numbers are available for sending
  • Estimated monthly message cost before connection, not after

Timeline: 2-4 working days

Why is it free

Because the main mistake with SMS is to send them all in a row. This can be seen in a few days on your own data, and it is better to see it before the bill from the operator.

What's next

If it turns out that messages in the messenger or letters are enough for you, let's say it directly. The list of events remains with you in any case.

Did not find your case?

Describe how it works on your side — we will tell you whether “Integration of SMS notifications with the store” fits and what it means in your situation. No brief and no call: one question, one answer.

  • Contract, act and 30-day warranty

Every project gets a written contract: scope, deadlines, amount, acceptance procedure. After delivery — act and invoice, then 30 calendar days of warranty.

  • Sole proprietor & bank transfer

The contractor is a registered sole proprietor. Payment by invoice with closing documents.

  • Rights & access — yours

Code, design and materials transfer to you after full payment. Domain, hosting, repository and analytics are registered to you.

  • Client portal instead of email chains

During the project you get access to a portal: contracts, invoices, acts and project status in one place.

  • European clients

Among our work — projects for Norway, Bulgaria, Moldova and Spain.

  • Verifiable numbers

Every case in the portfolio comes with a link to a live site and a technical measurement.

  • Audit first, then pricing

There is no price list on the site intentionally: the scope of the same work differs multiples between clients.

  • We say "no" when unsure

If the task isn't ours or the deadline is unrealistic — we tell you upfront.

What affects the price

Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently

  • Number of eventsOne shipment notification and a full set of seven order states are different jobs. Each event is a separate place in the store, which must be taught to inform the operator.
  • Phone base statusIf the numbers were stored in an arbitrary form, you will first have to bring them to the same format and weed out the unusable ones. Otherwise, some of the messages are paid for and do not go anywhere.
  • Do you need a verification code?Simple notification and number confirmation are different things. The second requires limits on the number of attempts and protection against overruns.
  • Messengers next to SMSViber and Telegram are cheaper, so most often the correct scheme is messenger first, SMS only as a backup. This is a more complex logic, but it pays off in volume.
  • BilingualismTwo language versions mean two versions of each message and the rule by which the system chooses the right one.
  • Volume of the catalog and ordersAt a large store, availability notifications have to be queued and paced, otherwise the operator will simply cut off the flow.

Tasks and results in numbers — all metrics measured by us

military equipment store with a catalog of more than 54,000 items

Task
Find out how a store of this size keeps in touch with the customer and what is already automated about it.
Solution
External technical dimension: markup, payment methods, connected communication and analytics services.
Result
Measured on 07/31/2026: catalog 54,302 products and 635 categories, 110,096 addresses in the site map in two languages, first server response 413.8 ms. Communication with the buyer is not conducted manually: eSputnik for messages and Binotel telephony are connected, GTM, GA4 and Google Ads are nearby. Manual transfer of statuses is physically impossible on such a volume.

custom agency template for OpenCart

Task
Make the notification about the appearance of the product in stock a part of the store, and not a separate module on the side.
Solution
We built a notification into the template itself with two channels — email and SMS — and with the renewal of the application if the person left the site.
Result
Measured on 08/02/2026: the list of possibilities includes 167 items in 16 sections, among them notification of the appearance of the product with recovery via email and SMS. The Ukrainian layer includes Nova Poshta with automatic invoices, registers and webhooks - it is from there that the invoice number is taken for notification to the buyer. The product has not yet been publicly launched: there are no stores on it.
What we need from you

We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance

  1. Access to the store admin — to see events and phone status
  2. SMS operator account or consent to create a new one
  3. The sender's registered signature or willingness to issue it on your documents
  4. List the events you want to report — or tell me where to start with the typical ones
  5. The decision whether messengers are needed next to SMS: both the scheme and the cost depend on this

If something is missing — let us know, we'll help you gather it or do it as a separate task.

FAQ

Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers

How much do the messages themselves cost?

You pay the operator directly, we are not an intermediary in this and do not make markups. But on the free check, we calculate the expected monthly expenditure on your own volumes — it is better to see the figure before connection than in the first bill.

Which is better: SMS or Viber and Telegram?

Messengers are cheaper, so the correct scheme is usually mixed: messenger first, SMS only when the person does not have a messenger. This is a more complex logic, but it pays off in volume. For the verification code, SMS remains more reliable.

Is it possible to send advertising to the customer base?

Technically yes, but operator rules for advertising SMS are stricter than for business ones, and a violation leads to the blocking of the sender's signature. We connect service messages about orders; advertising is a separate conversation with separate consent requirements.

What to do with numbers written down anyway?

We bring them to a single format and mark those that are not numbers. This is part of the work, and it pays off immediately: otherwise, part of the messages are paid and go nowhere.

Will the buyer not receive five messages in a row?

It will not: one event gives one message, even if the manager has switched the status several times. This is a separate fuse, and it is this that is usually missing when the SMS is connected in a hurry.

How long does it take to connect?

From 5 to 14 working days. The longest step is usually not a technical one, but the registration of the sender's signature with the operators - it is on your behalf and takes as long as it takes them.

And if the store is big?

The send is then queued with a rate limit, otherwise the operator will cut off the flow. We put it in place right away - in our dimension, there happened to be a store with 54,000 items, where availability notifications would be impossible without a queue.

Let's start with events and numbers, not with the operator

Make the store readable - we'll get back to you in 2-4 business days with a list of events worth turning into messages, phone base status, and expected monthly spend. If there are enough messengers or letters, let's say it in the first email.

  • We work under a contract

There is no price list on the site on purpose: the same work differs several times over between two clients, and a “from” figure explains nothing in that case. First a free audit — we count your pages, duplicates and speed — then we name the sum and the deadline and fix both in the contract.
