Law firm website: people come with a problem, not with the name of a field of law

A client does not search for “commercial law” — they search for what to do when a counterparty does not pay, when an inspection arrives or when property has to be divided. A website built around fields of law forces them to guess which practice their situation belongs to. We build the structure from the person's request: a typical situation, what is done about it, how much the first consultation costs and who exactly handles it.

Situations where this service delivers results

Scenario 1 of 4

A firm with several practices

The broader the profile, the more likely a client will not understand whether you take on their case. The website has to answer that before the person closes the tab.

We'll review your situation in a free audit
What's included

Complete list of work and what you get as a result

  • a structure based on the client's typical situations, not only on fields of law
  • practice pages explaining when exactly they apply
  • the format of work and the price of the initial consultation in a clear form
  • lawyer profiles with their specialization and experience
  • an inquiry form that does not collect case details — only a contact and the gist in a few words
  • an explainers section with a proper structure so the materials are found in search
  • organization and contact markup so search sees data rather than text
  • a mobile version tested on real phones
  • handover with a description of how to add practices and publish materials
When this service isn't right

What's not included — so there are no surprises at delivery

  • legal consultations and any advice on cases — that is your lawyers' work
  • promises of a case outcome or winning in court
  • publishing details of client cases without their written consent
  • promises of search rankings or the number of inquiries
  • writing legal texts without review by your specialist

We look at what decides things in this niche: whether clients recognize their situation, whether the terms of work are clear, and whether there is anything for search visitors to land on.

What we measure

  • Whether clients recognize their situationWe check whether it is clear from the first screen that you take on exactly such cases, or whether visitors need to know the name of the field of law.
  • Whether the terms of the initial consultation are clearWhether it is paid or not, how long it lasts, what the person gets. Uncertainty here is the most common reason people do not get in touch.
  • Whether it is visible who handles the caseIn this niche people trust people, not a company name. The specialization and experience of specific lawyers influence the decision more than the design.
  • What about the materialsWe check whether there are explainers and whether they are structured so that search can bring people to them.
  • What data the form collectsCase details should not be requested in a form: it is both unnecessary responsibility and a barrier to getting in touch.
  • The technical state of the current websiteResponse speed, structured data, canonical URLs, breadcrumb markup — the same things we measured on websites in this niche.

What you get

  • a list of what affects inquiries in the niche, with the reasons explained
  • a proposed structure based on client situations
  • an estimate of the work broken down by stage
  • an honest answer on whether you need a new website

Timeline: 2–4 working days

Why is it free

An attorney's website with two practices and a firm's website with a dozen practice areas and a materials section differ in scope several times over. Without a review, any figure would be guesswork.

What's next

You get a list and an estimate. Then you decide for yourself — the document stays with you.

What affects the price

Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently

  • Number of practicesTwo practices mean a few pages. A dozen practice areas with typical situations for each mean a structure that has to be designed, not just filled in.
  • Situation pagesA separate page for each typical query gives more entry points from search, but each one has to be substantive rather than a retelling of the page next to it.
  • Materials sectionExplainers need convenient publishing, structure and search. It is a separate module, not a “News” page.
  • Readiness of textsLegal texts have to be reviewed by your specialist. If there are no materials and nobody to write them, this becomes the project's bottleneck.
  • Number of lawyersSpecialist profiles linked to practices are a separate structure, especially if one lawyer handles several areas.
  • Several languagesIf you work with foreign clients, a second language doubles the volume of texts and adds work on page URLs.
Process steps

Transparent stages with approval at every step

Total duration:15–50 days

  1. Reviewing the task

    2–4 working days

We identify the typical situations people bring to you and how they map to your practices. The result is a website structure and an estimate.

  2. Structure by situation

    3–7 working days

We design the path: the client's situation → practice → lawyer → inquiry. We decide which situation pages to build first.

  3. Building the website

    8–28 working days

We build the home page, practice and situation pages, lawyer profiles and consultation terms. We work in a test environment.

  4. Materials section

    3–8 working days

We set up explainers with easy publishing and a structure that gets them found in search, not just read by visitors already on the site.

  5. Inquiries and the technical base

    2–5 working days

We build an inquiry form without unnecessary data and add organization markup, canonical URLs and a sitemap.

  6. Launch and handover

    1–3 working days

We roll out the website, check the first inquiries and hand over instructions for publishing materials. After that the 30-day warranty applies from the date the acceptance act is signed.

Tasks and results in numbers — all metrics measured by us

a sample of 4 Ukrainian websites in the “legal” niche

Task
Find out what state websites in the “legal” niche are actually in, rather than what their owners say: the technical base, measurement and website size.
Solution
An external measurement without access to anyone else's admin panels: time to first response as the median of several measurements, the catalog from the sitemap with URL deduplication, counters in the home page HTML, the PHP version from headers, hreflang, TLS, robots.txt and the canonical URL.
Result
Measured on 17 September 2026: 4 Ukrainian websites in the “legal” niche were checked. 3 of 4 have no breadcrumb markup; 2 of 4 have no local business markup; 1 of 4 have no canonical URL on the homepage. Median first response time: 635.5 ms; median sitemap size: 524 URLs.
What we need from you

We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance

  1. a list of practices and the typical situations people bring to you
  2. the format and price of the initial consultation
  3. lawyers, their specialization and experience
  4. what can and cannot be published about cases, taking client consent into account
  5. whether there are materials and who reviews them
  6. who on your side accepts the work

If something is missing — let us know, we'll help you gather it or do it as a separate task.

FAQ

Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers

Why structure by situation rather than by field of law?

Because clients do not think in fields of law. They search for “what to do if a debt is not repaid” or “how to appeal a fine”. A page with that title and a clear explanation brings in someone who already has the problem; a page called “Commercial law” mostly brings in colleagues and students.

Can we publish case studies?

Only with the client's written consent and without details by which they could be recognized. It is both a confidentiality requirement and a matter of trust: a client who sees someone else's case on the website will wonder whether their own will end up there. We always recommend generalized wording.

Do you guarantee inquiries from the website?

No. The website makes you understandable to people already looking for help and gives entry points from search through explainers. But the number of inquiries depends on reputation, referrals and competition, and promising figures here would be dishonest.

Should we state the price of a consultation?

Usually yes, and it noticeably reduces the number of time-wasting calls. If the consultation is free, say so directly; if it is paid, name the amount and explain what the person gets for it. Uncertainty here puts people off more than the price itself.

Who writes the legal texts?

Your specialist. We are responsible for the structure, clarity and making sure the material gets found, but the legal content has to be reviewed by a lawyer. Writing such texts without review would mean letting you down in front of your own clients.

What data should the inquiry form ask for?

The minimum: a name, a contact and the gist in a few words. Case details should not be collected through a form — it means unnecessary responsibility for storing them, and it is a barrier: people will not describe a confidential situation in a field on a website.

How long does development take?

17 to 51 working days. The longest part is not development but gathering typical situations and preparing texts on your side. We give the exact timeline after the review.

Who owns the website after the work?

You do. The property rights to the code, design and materials pass to the client after full payment, and the result is handed over under an acceptance act. The domain, hosting and analytics are registered in your name from the very start.

Let's collect the situations people bring to you

We will show how to build the website around them instead of a list of fields of law. The review is free.

  • We work under a contract

There is no price list on the site on purpose: the same work differs several times over between two clients, and a “from” figure explains nothing in that case. First a free audit — we count your pages, duplicates and speed — then we name the sum and the deadline and fix both in the contract.
