Restaurant website: a menu that opens in a second and a table you can book right now

A restaurant website is read mostly on a phone and mostly in a hurry: people are choosing where to go tonight. They need the menu with prices, opening hours, the address and a way to book a table without dialing a number. The most common mistake in this niche is a menu as a file that takes a long time to load and cannot be read on a small screen. We make the menu a page and booking a form, and turn the address and hours into data that both people and search can see.

Situations where this service delivers results

Scenario 1 of 4

A venue whose menu is a file

A menu as a document cannot be read on a phone, takes a long time to load and is invisible to search. In this niche it is the quickest change with a noticeable effect.

We'll review your situation in a free audit
What's included

Complete list of work and what you get as a result

  • the menu as a page with categories, dishes and prices, not as a downloadable file
  • a menu that opens quickly on a phone: images of sensible weight, no heavy galleries up front
  • table booking with a choice of date, time and number of guests
  • up-to-date opening hours, including holiday exceptions and technical breaks
  • local business and menu markup, so search sees the address, hours and cuisine as data
  • a page with directions, parking and landmarks
  • a venue gallery with a weight limit, so it does not slow the page down
  • forwarding bookings to where they are handled: a messenger, email or a system
  • handover with a description of how to change the menu and prices yourself
When this service isn't right

What's not included — so there are no surprises at delivery

  • photographing dishes and the interior
  • writing dish descriptions and ingredient lists
  • the host's work after a booking is received
  • promises of a full dining room or search rankings
  • connecting restaurant automation systems, if you do not use them

Free review of your task

We look at what decides things in this niche: how fast the menu opens on a phone, how easy booking is and how visible you are nearby.

What we measure

  • What form the menu takesA file, an image or a page — this determines both the speed and whether search sees your dishes at all.
  • How heavy the homepage is on a phoneLarge dish photos on the first screen are the main reason pages open slowly in this niche.
  • How bookings are takenPhone, messenger or form. We look at which cases can be taken off the host and which still need a conversation.
  • Whether the opening hours are up to dateA mismatch between the site, the maps and reality is the most common reason the impression is spoiled before the visit.
  • What about local markupWe check the address, hours and type of cuisine as data — the same things we measured on websites in this niche, and this is where the results were worst.
  • How many venues you haveThe site structure depends on it: one page, or separate pages for each address with its own menu and hours.

What you get

  • a list of what affects visits in this niche, with the reasons explained
  • a proposed site structure for your menu
  • an estimate of the work broken down by stage
  • an honest answer on whether you need a new website

Timeline: 2–4 working days

Why is it free

A website for one venue and a website for a chain with different menus differ in scope several times over. Without the review any figure would be guesswork.

What affects the price

Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently

  • Menu size and structureA single page with categories is done quickly. Seasonal menus, lists of unavailable dishes and separate menus for the bar or breakfast add structure and management work.
  • Whether booking is neededA form that forwards to a messenger is simple. Booking that accounts for the floor plan, the number of tables and occupancy is separate logic with its own rules.
  • Number of venuesA chain means separate pages with their own hours, addresses and sometimes menus, plus choosing a venue when booking.
  • Volume of photosThe gallery is the heaviest part of a website in this niche. Preparing images properly affects speed more than the choice of platform.
  • Delivery and pickupIf you deliver orders, a cart, delivery zones and a minimum order amount are added — that is closer to an online store than to a restaurant website.
  • Who will manage the menuSomeone on your team should be able to change the menu without a developer. Convenient management is separate work, but without it the site will be out of date within a month.
Process steps

Transparent stages with approval at every step

Total duration:15–45 days

  1. Reviewing the task

    2–4 working days

We look at the menu, the way bookings are taken and local visibility. We determine what will make the biggest difference for the least effort.

  2. Structure and menu

    3–6 working days

We design the menu page with categories and decide how to show seasonal items and dishes that are temporarily unavailable, and how you will manage all of this.

  3. Building the site

    8–25 working days

We build the homepage, the menu, a venue page with directions and a gallery with a weight limit. We work in a test environment.

  4. Booking

    3–8 working days

We connect a booking form with the date, time and number of guests, forwarding to a messenger or email, and a confirmation for the guest.

  5. Local visibility

    1–3 working days

We add local business and menu markup and check the opening hours against your maps profile, including holiday exceptions.

  6. Launch and handover

    1–3 working days

We roll out the site, check the first bookings and hand over instructions for changing the menu. Then the 30-day warranty from the date the acceptance act is signed applies.

Tasks and results in numbers — all metrics measured by us

a sample of 7 Ukrainian websites in the “restaurant” niche

Task
Find out what state the sites in the restaurant niche are actually in, rather than what their owners say: the technical base, measurement and site size.
Solution
An external measurement without access to anyone else's admin panels: time to first response as the median of several measurements, the catalog from the sitemap with duplicate URLs removed, counters in the homepage HTML, the PHP version from the headers, hreflang, TLS, robots.txt and the canonical URL.
Result
Measured on 17 September 2026: 7 Ukrainian websites in the “restaurant” niche were checked. 7 of 7 have no local business markup; 6 of 7 have no breadcrumb markup; 5 of 7 have no structured data; 1 of 7 answer slower than a second. Median first response time: 439.2 ms; median sitemap size: 76 URLs.
What we need from you

We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance

  1. the menu with prices and dish descriptions
  2. how bookings are taken now and who handles them
  3. addresses, opening hours and holiday exceptions
  4. whether there is delivery or pickup, and in which zones
  5. photos of the venue and dishes, or access to the source
  6. who on your side accepts the work

If something is missing — let us know, we'll help you gather it or do it as a separate task.

FAQ

Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers

Why is a menu as a file a bad idea?

Because it is read on a phone. The document has to be zoomed, it loads in full even if only one page is needed, and its content mostly stays invisible to search. A menu as a page solves all three problems at once and can be updated without a developer.

Do we need online booking if we take reservations by phone?

Not always. If traffic is light and your host can keep up, a form will change little. But in the evenings and on weekends the phone becomes the bottleneck: the line is busy, and the guest goes wherever they managed to book. In the review we look at your actual traffic rather than recommending a form by default.

Do you guarantee more guests?

No. The site helps people who are already choosing a place decide in your favor: it shows the menu, prices, hours and directions. But how full the dining room is depends on the food, the location and your reputation, and promising percentages here would be dishonest.

Why local business markup?

So that the address, opening hours and type of cuisine are data for search rather than text. That is what helps you appear in “near me” results. On the restaurant websites we measured, this markup was missing on every single one — so the advantage here goes to anyone who adds it.

Who will update the menu?

Someone on your team, without a developer. This matters: the menu changes more often than anything else on the site, and if every price change requires contacting a contractor, the site will be out of date within a month. Convenient menu management is part of the work, not something sold separately.

How long does development take?

16 to 45 working days. The menu and photos take the most time: moving the menu into a structure and preparing the images so the page stays fast. We give the exact timeline after the review.

We have three venues — is that one website or three?

Usually one site with a separate page for each venue: a shared brand, but each with its own address, hours and, if needed, menu. That way a person looking for a specific address lands on it straight away rather than in a general list.

Who owns the website after the work?

You do. The property rights to the code, design and materials pass to the client after full payment, and the result is handed over under an acceptance act. The domain, hosting and analytics are registered in your name from the very start.

  • We work under a contract

There is no price list on the site on purpose: the same work differs several times over between two clients, and a “from” figure explains nothing in that case. First a free audit — we count your pages, duplicates and speed — then we name the sum and the deadline and fix both in the contract.
