Local SEO: to be found by those nearby

Local SEO for business is working with data about your physical points: name, address, phone, coordinates, schedule. It is needed by those to whom you can come or who are called to the address; purely online store - no, and we say it directly. The main defect here is not the lack of data, but the discrepancy between them: the page says one thing, the markup the other, the company profile the third. Therefore, we start with the consistency check, and not with the texts.

What do we measure?
Process steps

Transparent stages with approval at every step

Total duration:10–30 days

  1. Consistency check

    2-3 working days

We remove the name, address, phone number and schedule from the site, from the markup and from the company profile and put them next to each other. The output is a table of discrepancies, which usually explains why the local search still doesn't work.

  2. Reference data by points

    2-4 working days

We fix what is true from the divergent: the exact address to the entrance, the coordinates of the entrance, not the center of the building, the schedule with breaks, the status of each point. Then it is the source from which everything else is updated.

  3. Pages of points and markup

    4-8 working days

Each address gets its own map, schedule, and phone page, and structured markup describes the same data in machine format. We mark only what is really on the page.

  4. Company profile in maps

    3-5 working days

We fill in or put in order: categories, hours, service area, photo, link to the page of this point. Here we remove or redefine the points that no longer work.

  5. Measurement of appeals

    2-3 working days

Calls through call tracking, route construction and transitions from the profile, requests from the form are events in analytics. We check that the events are really arriving, and not just configured in the interface.

  6. Monthly reconciliation

    every month, from 30 days

Once a month, we check whether the data has not diverged again: holidays, phone change, new point. Together with a report on calls and routes. Local data is corrupted by changes in your business, not by the search engine.

Technologies & integrations

What we build on and what it connects to

Stack

  • Structured data of local business (type of establishment, address, coordinates, hours of operation) — transmit data in machine format; items are not raised, and you can mark only what is on the page
  • Google Business Profile is the main element of local issuance; the terms of confirmation of rights and moderation are set by the service, not the contractor
  • The coordinates of the entrance from the map are more accurate than the geocoding of the address in a line; but if there are several logins, only your administrator knows the correct one
  • Search Console — data on the indexing of dot pages; not all requests are also delayed
  • GA4 is a reference trend, not accounting: consent mode and blockers cut off some of the events
  • Call tracking is the only way to count calls; requires separate numbers and service payment
  • Manual source reconciliation - it is this that finds discrepancies that automatic tools miss: each source is individually valid

What's included

Complete list of work and what you get as a result

  • Reconciliation of name, address, phone and graphics between site, markup and company profile - so the searcher doesn't have to choose which version to believe
  • A reference table of data per point: one source from which all other locations are then updated
  • Local structured markup with postal address, coordinates and hours of operation - we have a measured reference point of the complete set in our own case
  • A separate page for each physical point: address, map, schedule, phone number of this point, how to get there - a page that you are not ashamed to give to a person who has already decided to go
  • Completing and updating the company profile in the maps: categories, hours, photo, service area — it is the profile that decides in the local issue
  • Cleaning and re-designation of points that have closed or temporarily do not work, simultaneously on the site and in the profile
  • Local mentions in the content where they are natural: areas, landmarks, self-pickup conditions — without stuffing the name of the city into every headline
  • Setting up call measurement and route construction so that after a quarter there is something to talk about in numbers, not feelings
  • Checking that the point pages made it to the sitemap at all: in the store we measured, the map returned 3,971 records for 590 addresses and all for one language version
  • Monthly check of relevance: schedules for holidays, change of phone, new point, closed point
When this service isn't right

What's not included — so there are no surprises at delivery

  • Work with reviews and reputation as a separate direction
  • Promises of a place in the local issuing block
  • Business registration and obtaining documents
  • Contextual advertising with geotargeting
Who it's for

Situations where this service delivers results

Scenario 1 of 4

There is a hall or a drop-off point, and there is one line of contacts on the website

The address lives in the footer as a text, the phone is in the hat, the schedule is in the head of the administrator. For local search, this is not a point, but a hint of it. The work here is simple and gives the most noticeable shift: the point receives a page with the address, coordinates and schedule, the same data goes into the markup and into the company profile, after which they cease to contradict each other.

Local SEO with work on the profile versus just markup on the site

How this option differs from the alternative

Company profile in mapspart of the work: filling, updating, point statuses
Discrepancies in datawe look for them first and summarize them in a table before starting work
Several physical pointsown page and own entry in the profile for each address
Pages for cities without dotswe do not: such pages are read as artificial
What is shown in the reportcalls, route constructions, appeals, number of discrepancies

Free local data check

Local search works with specific entities: name, address, phone, coordinates, schedule. The main defect here is not the absence, but the discrepancy — when the same data on the website, in the markup, and in the company profile are different. The test takes hours and costs nothing.

What we measure

  • Consistency of name, address and phoneEverywhere is the same or not. We found a site where there is one phone in the header, and another in the structured markup.
  • Work scheduleDoes it match on the page and in the markup. In the measured case, the page had a schedule with a day off, and the markup had all seven days with different hours.
  • Local markingAre the address, coordinates and reception hours described in a structured way. Measured landmarks: from a complete set of local types to their complete absence.
  • Company profile in mapsIs it filled in, is the data up-to-date, are the points not marked that are no longer working.
  • Pages under pointsDoes each physical address have its own page, or are they all combined into one contact line?
  • Local signals in the contentAre the city and district mentioned where it is natural - without artificial stuffing.
  • Are the search engine points visible? Are the address pages included in the sitemap and do they lead to a different language version? In the measured store, the map contained 3,971 entries for 590 unique addresses, all leading to the same language.

What you get

  • Table of local data discrepancies between site, markup, and company profile.
  • A list of what is missing for local release.
  • Work plan with division into site and company profile.
  • Conversation for 30 minutes on the document.

Timeline: 2-3 working days

Why is it free

Because discrepancies in the data are quickly visible, and the correction is often free from our side - it is filling in the fields, not development. We prefer to say it right away.

What's next

Next, work on the site and profile. Separately, we warn you: the markup on the site does not replace the company profile, it is the main one in the local issue.

Short form: your contact and site URL

Describe how it works on your side — we will tell you whether “Local SEO” fits and what it means in your situation. No brief and no call: one question, one answer.

  • Contract, act and 30-day warranty

Every project gets a written contract: scope, deadlines, amount, acceptance procedure. After delivery — act and invoice, then 30 calendar days of warranty.

  • Sole proprietor & bank transfer

The contractor is a registered sole proprietor. Payment by invoice with closing documents.

  • Rights & access — yours

Code, design and materials transfer to you after full payment. Domain, hosting, repository and analytics are registered to you.

  • Client portal instead of email chains

During the project you get access to a portal: contracts, invoices, acts and project status in one place.

  • European clients

Among our work — projects for Norway, Bulgaria, Moldova and Spain.

  • Verifiable numbers

Every case in the portfolio comes with a link to a live site and a technical measurement.

  • Audit first, then pricing

There is no price list on the site intentionally: the scope of the same work differs multiples between clients.

  • We say "no" when unsure

If the task isn't ours or the deadline is unrealistic — we tell you upfront.

What affects the price

Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently

  • How many physical points do you have? One address is several days of work. A network of a dozen branches — a dozen pages, a dozen profile entries, and the procedure by which they are further updated. The volume specifies the number of points, not the number of requests.
  • What is the state of the point dataThere is a table with exact addresses, coordinates and schedules - work begins immediately. There is none, and addresses have to be clarified by phone with each administrator, and the coordinates are set by eye - a week of collection is added.
  • Who owns the company profileThe profile is yours and you have access - edits are made immediately. The profile was confirmed by a former contractor or it was created automatically - rights are restored first, and this term is set by service moderation.
  • The state of the site under the pages of pointsContacts are sewn into the header and footer template with a single text insert - each point needs a separate page and separate markup, which is an edit in the theme. Where pages are created from the admin, the volume is made faster.
  • Language versionsEach language version duplicates local data, so there are twice as many discrepancies. In a measured store with three languages, the schedule and contacts are given by markings on each; in another, the sitemap led to only one of the two languages.
  • Do you need call metering?Applications from the form are counted by themselves. Calls - no: they require call tracking with their own numbers, and this is a monthly service payment, not our job. Without it, the result is evaluated by route constructions and transitions to the site.

Task
Describe the store and its physical presence so that the local data is readable in a machine-readable format, rather than guessed from text in the footer.
Solution

What we need from you

We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance

  1. The exact addresses of all points are to the entrance and the floor, not "Str. Central, somewhere near the market."
  2. The coordinates of the entrance, if the entrance is not from the facade: the geocoding of the address puts a mark in the center of the building, and the person looks for the door in a circle.
  3. Schedules with breaks, weekends and a separate regime for holidays.
  4. Access to the company's profile in maps or readiness to confirm rights - a letter with a code arrives at a physical address, and only you can receive it.
  5. Site access for markup and points pages.
  6. The status of each point: working, temporarily closed, closed forever - this is the field that people forget to update most often.

If something is missing — let us know, we'll help you gather it or do it as a separate task.

FAQ

Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers

Does the markup on the site replace the company profile in the maps?

No. In local publishing, the main thing is the profile, reviews and the actual proximity of the person to your point. Markup on the site reconciles data and removes contradictions - an important but supporting part. Anyone who sells local promotion without working with a profile sells half. Our recommendation, if the resource is limited: first the profile and summary of data, then the pages of points and markup. The reverse order gives a neat site that is almost invisible to local publishing.

What is the harm of discrepancies in the data?

Because the search engine has to choose which version to believe, and the choice may not be in your favor. We found a site where there is one phone in the hood and footer, and another in the structured layout; and a site where the schedule with a day off is on the page, and the markup shows seven working days with other hours. For the system, this is a signal of unreliability, for a person it is a closed door on Sunday.

We don't have a physical store - local SEO required?

Mostly no, and we will say so right before the contract. For a purely online business without a dot, this direction almost does not work: there is nothing to describe. The exception is companies with a service area, where it is not the address that is important, but the territory of departure: service, installation, repair. But if this territory is the whole country, there will be no effect either, and it is better to invest in other areas.

What to do with a point that temporarily does not work?

Mark it clearly and at the same time everywhere. We have come across a store where the pick-up point is marked as closed from a specific date - this is correct exactly as long as the same status is in the company's profile. Otherwise, a person will come to the closed door and write a review about it. Temporary closure and permanent closure are different statuses with different consequences and should not be confused.

Do you need separate pages for each city?

Under each real point — yes, it's a base. For cities where you have neither an address nor a presence - no: such pages are read as artificial, compete with each other and rarely bring appeals. We distinguish between these two cases and do not do the second one, even if it is requested. If you need to reach cities without points, a more honest tool is a geotargeted ad, rather than a dozen twin pages.

How to measure the result of local promotion?

Calls, routing, and website accesses are not the position in the map block: it is different for each user depending on where he is physically standing at that moment. That is why we measure before the works, and not after. Sober about accuracy: consent mode and blockers cut off some of the events, so the analytics show the trend, not the box office. Calls without call tracking are not counted at all - this is a separate service with a monthly fee.

And if we move - what to do with the data?

Warn us before the move, not after. The procedure is as follows: first, the company profile and the point page are updated with the new address and coordinates, the old address remains with the status of moving, and does not disappear silently. If you simply erase the address, some of the links and references will lead nowhere, and the search engine will keep both versions for a while and show the old one. This is a case where a week of preparation saves a quarter.

How long before something changes?

Consistency of data and markup is visible in weeks: pages of points enter the index, the profile ceases to contradict the site, calls are finally counted. A noticeable change in the flow of calls is from the quarter, and this is a fair limit, not a caution. The first cycle of work — 10–30 working days depending on the number of points, then monthly reconciliation. We do not name the dates of appearance in the block of cards: this is not the value that the contractor controls.

Send site address and list of points with graphs.

The answer is a table of discrepancies between the site, markup and company profile and a work plan divided into two parts. If you do not have physical points, we will say so in the first email and we will not take the job.
