Trade campaigns: product cards with photo and price in issue
Setting up Google shopping campaigns does not start in the advertising cabinet, but in your product feed: there are no keywords at all, the query is matched with the name, category and characteristics of the position. Therefore, we measure the catalog first, and only then create a campaign structure, grouping options and priorities. Further management is also based on data: analysis of deviations and redistribution of the budget between product groups. First launch — 7-21 business days.

Process steps
Transparent stages with approval at every step
Total duration:7–21 days
1
Checking the directory and feed
3-5 working days
We look at names, categories, prices and availability, take a sample of product addresses for forwarding, assess whether there is a field for segmentation. If the office is already working, read the deviation report.
2
Bringing the data to order
0-7 working days - the stage is dropped if the feed is already working
Rules of the feed, grouping of options, exclusion of items that cannot be advertised. We do this in the feed, and not in the site directory, whenever possible: an edit in the feed is applied in hours, a change in the directory - by release.
3
Structure of campaigns
2-3 working days
We develop a catalog by campaigns, set priorities and negative keywords, separate brand traffic. Here we record which product groups we do not advertise at all and why.
4
Income measurement
1-2 working days
We check that the purchase is transferred with the amount and composition of the order, and not as an event without money. We check selectively with your account: a 5% discrepancy is normal, a double discrepancy means that we are measuring the wrong thing.
5
Starting and passing moderation
1-3 working days
We launch campaigns, wait for product approval, analyze the first deviation report. We correct mass errors as a rule, we give you individual ones with a list of cards.
6
Conducting
every week while campaigns run
Weekly cycle: deviation report, product groups without any sales, budget reallocation, new negative words. Once a month — a report with a breakdown of expenses and income by group.
Technologies & integrations
What we build on and what it connects to
Stack
Google Ads shopping campaigns — visibility at the product and query level. Limit: Cannot add keyword.
Merchant Center - product source and deviation report. The limit: for inconsistency with politicians, the entire account is blocked.
XML product feed — the status of the catalog at the time of export. Limit: between runs, the price in issue lags behind the site.
Feed rules and additional feed — edits without release on the site. Limit: the defect remains in the catalog and will appear elsewhere.
GA4 with e-commerce - revenue instead of clicks. Limit: GA4 shows a trend, not an accounting truth.
Google Tag Manager - Events without code edits. Boundary: Blockers and consent mode cut off some data.
Integrations
Google Merchant Center
Google Ads
GA4
Google Tag Manager
Google Search Console
accounting system: balances and prices
What's included
Complete list of work and what you get as a result
We connect the feed from the Merchant Center to the advertising account - products appear where a person is already comparing specific items
We develop a catalog of campaigns by brand, category or marginal group - the budget goes where you decide
We group product options in the feed — the sizes and colors of one model stop competing for one display
We correct the names and categories of those groups where they do not match the request - the name works here instead of the keyword
We prioritize campaigns and negative keywords - general expensive requests are cut off from groups where they do not pay off
We separate branded and non-branded traffic — you can see the price of a new buyer separately from the price of your own name
We exclude unprofitable items, goods to order and things that are not in stock - the money does not go to unshipped items
We start the transfer of income to the advertising account - the bids are optimized for money, not for clicks
We analyze the report on deviations regularly - it is clear what to rule by the rule of the feed, and what to do with the hands in the card
We provide a monthly report with a breakdown of expenses and income by product group - you can see which groups are pulling and which are eating

Situations where this service delivers results
Scenario 1 of 5
One campaign for the entire catalog, and it's been like this for half a year
The budget is spread in an even layer: cheap items eat up impressions, expensive ones are not shown anywhere. We develop a catalog of campaigns based on a feature that means something to you - a brand, a marginal group, a price shelf - and then the budget is no longer controlled by chance, but by your choice.
We'll review your situation in a free audit
Scenario 2 of 5
Each size and color is a separate item
Clothing, shoe and underwear stores are almost always set up like this. In the catalog measured by us for 115,456 items, this can be seen simply in the addresses: 80B, 75E, XL, 36-41. Without a grouping field, a dozen cards of the same model go to the same show, and you pay to compete with yourself.
Scenario 3 of 5
Half of the catalog hangs with the rejected
The report was opened twice, both times closed. We divide it into mass errors, which are treated by one feed rule, and single ones, which are corrected in cards. The long list usually boils down to three or four reasons, and two of them live not in the feed, but on the product page.
Scenario 4 of 5
Expenses are visible, income is not
Clicks and the price of a click are in the office, the feeling is in the head. The cosmetics store we measured for 5,561 items has no counter: no GTM, no gtag, no pixel. Until the income comes into the account, automatic bids optimize what they see - clicks.
Scenario 5 of 5
The range is uneven in margin
Half of the catalog gives a penny, a quarter - the main part of the profit, and in the campaign they sit together. Splitting requires one thing: a field with a marginal group in the data. If it is not there, we collect it with an additional feed, without touching the site directory.
A classic trade campaign against Performance Max
How this option differs from the alternative
Performance MaxOur approach
What can be seen in the reportsgroups of objects and summaries; details on request are limitedproduct, product group, search query
Display managementexclusions at the account and list level, the rest — on the automation sidenegative keywords, campaign priorities, group exclusions
Where are the shows taken?all Google channels at once, including video and mailgoods issue and search

When we takecoverage is required on top of the already built commodity channelyou need control over which products are displayed
Free catalog check before sales campaigns
A shopping campaign does not have keywords - it shows your products based on feed data. This means that all optimization begins in the directory, not in the advertising cabinet. The check shows exactly what needs to be fixed.
What we measure
Names and categories of products in the feedIt is the name that replaces the keyword here. Let's see if it contains the brand, model and characteristic by which the product is being searched for.
Product addresses that lead to the wrong productIn the store we measured, out of 150 random product sitemap addresses, 50 (33%) returned 301s, and all led to a different position — a different size or color. In the scope of the catalog, there are 115,456 items, which is about 37,000 addresses.
Duplicates in size and colorWhen each size is a separate item, the marketing campaign shows them as different products and competes with itself. This is handled by grouping, not betting.
Price and availabilityThe price in the feed, in the markup and on the page must match. A discrepancy is a product rejection, not just a warning.
ImageBackground, size, no overlay text and watermarks. Deviations here occur in whole groups of goods.
Directory suitability for segmentationIs there a field in the data by which you can divide the budget: brand, category, marginal group, price shelf.
What you get
Evaluation of the share of the catalog, ready for display without editing.
List of system data defects with the scope of each.
Campaign segmentation scheme for your catalog.
A 40-minute conversation with an analysis of the deviation report if the feed is already connected.
Timeline: 3-5 working days
Why is it free
Because it is technically possible to launch a sales campaign on a dirty directory — and that's why they do it. Expenses become visible already after the first weeks, and it is impossible to return them.
What's next
We give an estimate in two parts: bringing the data to order and setting up and running campaigns separately. If the feed is already working, the first part is not needed.

Verifiable numbers
Every case in the portfolio comes with a link to a live site and a technical measurement.
Audit first, then pricing
There is no price list on the site intentionally: the scope of the same work differs multiples between clients.
We say "no" when unsure
If the task isn't ours or the deadline is unrealistic — we tell you upfront.
What affects the price
Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently
The state of the feed at the startA good feed with names, IDs and prices that match the page takes most of the work out of it. The feed collected by the box module "as is" has to be sorted through the fields - and this is already work on the catalog, not on campaigns.
How many options are available per modelThe catalog, where the product is a model, is assembled quickly. A catalog where a product is size and color requires grouping and checking that the options fit into one card. This is a difference in days, and hundreds of thousands of items - in weeks.
Is there a segmentation field in the dataThere is usually a brand and a category. There is almost never a marginal group, and it is most useful to divide the budget according to it. Then we collect it with an additional feed on your table - a separate step that you can skip.
Driving modeA store where prices and balances move once a week and a store that reprices daily require different amounts of attention. The second case is the daily control of deviations, because each new download brings a new batch of errors.
Cases
Tasks and results in numbers — all metrics measured by us
online retail underwear store, catalog of over 110,000 items
Task
Evaluate how a catalog created at the level of size and color will behave in product advertising.
Solution
OpenCart 3, a site map with an index of 42 sub-maps, full product markup on the card. GTM, GA4 and Google Ads are connected with the transfer of the product ID to remarketing.
Result
Measurement 08/01/2026: 115,456 product items, confirmed by two independent methods with a discrepancy of 2.4%. It's the SKU itself, not the model - the slugs show 80B, 75E, XL, 36-41, so without a grouping field, a dozen cards of the same model go to one show. A defect we found critical for product advertising: a sample of 150 product sitemap addresses yielded 50 redirects, and all 50 led to a different size or color; on the scale of the directory, this is about 37,000 addresses.
online store of professional cosmetics, catalog of over 5,000 items
Task
To understand whether it is possible to calculate the return from product advertising on this catalog at all.
Solution
Store on OpenCart 3, navigation by brands and types of means. They checked from the outside: the volume of the catalog by standard search, the site map, the presence of counters.
Result
Measurement 07/31/2026: 5,561 products in the live catalog — 55 search pages for 100 items plus 61 for the last one. There is no counter on the main one: no GTM, no gtag, no pixel, that is, the income to be transferred to the advertising account does not physically exist. /sitemap.xml and the standard OpenCart feed give HTTP 200 with a body of zero bytes - there is no source for the product feed either. It is technically possible to advertise such a catalog, but not to measure the return.
online store of professional tools, catalog of over 6,000 items
Task
Check which addresses will get into the feed if you collect it from the site map as it is.
Solution
OpenCart, two language versions, sitemap at a non-standard address declared in robots.txt. They went through it completely, with deduplication.
Result
Measured on 07/31/2026: 25,537 records give 6,857 unique addresses — 6,486 products and 361 categories, that is, each product is on the map 3.9 times on average under different paths. All addresses are in Russian, although by default the site displays the Ukrainian version. Domain root returns 301 to insecure http. For commercial advertising, each of the three points is individually harmful: duplicates, the language of the ad, and the address without encryption.
What we need from you
We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance
1Access to Merchant Center and Google Ads — accounts remain registered to your company.
2Working product feed or consent to its assembly.
3Marginality by product groups: without it, the division of the budget will be arbitrary.
4The list of items that cannot be advertised is made-to-order, unprofitable, and limited by policy.
5Access to the site if you have to edit the catalog data.
6The monthly budget and the limit of the share of expenses in income, beyond which it is impossible to go.
If something is missing — let us know, we'll help you gather it or do it as a separate task.
FAQ
Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers
Why are there no keywords in sales campaigns and how to manage impressions?
The request is matched with the position data: name, category, brand, characteristics. It is not possible to add the word you want to be displayed by - you can only make the product match this request. At the same time, there are three rudder: the name in the feed, negative keywords and the priority of the campaign. An often-overlooked technical detail: priority is more important than rate. If a high-priority campaign cuts off a query with a negative keyword, it goes to a lower-priority campaign, even with a lower bid. It is on this basis that the separation of branded and non-branded traffic is built.
We have each size as a separate product. Is this a problem?
This is the most common structural problem in product advertising of clothes, shoes and underwear. The store we measured with 115,456 items is set up just like that — the size and color can be seen simply in the addresses. Without a grouping field, the system reads the options as different products: ten cards of the same model compete for one impression, and the budget is divided between them. This is handled by the grouping field in the feed, not by bids. Fair margin: Grouping reduces internal competition, but doesn't add impressions per se — it stops spreading them around.
There are four thousand rejected products in the cabinet. Is that a lot?
The number here says almost nothing, the number of reasons weighs. Long lists usually boil down to three or four things: a price mismatch between the feed and the page, an image with text overlay, a missing ID, and an address that leads to the wrong product. The first three rule the entire catalog in a few hours. The fourth is the most expensive: in the store we measured, a third of the verified product addresses led to another position, and this is already work according to the catalog, not according to the feed.
Shopping campaigns or Performance Max?
Depends on your order flow and how much control you're willing to give up. A classic shopping campaign shows a product, a product group and a search query - you can make decisions based on this. PMax gives a wider reach and significantly less visibility, and on a small stream of conversions, it takes a long and unstable time to learn. For a store with a constant flow, we usually keep both types with a delineation of assortment, rather than carrying everything into one. The solution is after checking the directory, not by default.
Can I advertise only part of the catalog?
Not only is it possible, but it is almost always correct. Zero margin, backorder items, and what's not actually in stock are draining money with no chance of shipment. We cut them off with a feed rule or a separate group. Our recommendation at the start of management: turn off for two weeks the product groups that did not give a single order during the quarter, and look at the income. According to our experience, it does not fall, and the released budget goes to places where there are already sales.
How to measure the result and what to do if there is no analytics?
Measure by income and the share of expenses in it, not by clicks. This requires a working e-commerce: the purchase must be transferred with the amount and composition of the order. In the sample of 33 sites we measured, six had no meter at all, and another four had Universal Analytics turned off in July 2023 — data hasn't been collected there for years. If the account does not receive income, automatic bids optimize what they see: clicks. Therefore, we measure before the launch, and not after the first bills.
How long until the first sales?
Impressions come from the first day after the goods are approved, approval takes from a few hours to several days, and the first findings take two to three weeks: before that, there is simply not enough data to distinguish the signal from the noise. The longest part is usually not the launch, but the data cleanup, which stretches the time from seven days to twenty one. We call the specific number after checking, when the volume of edits is visible.
Who manages the rates and is it possible to set a spending limit in the income?
It is possible to set a target share of expenses in income, and we do it, but only after the income is actually transferred to the account - otherwise the system calculates the goal from data that is not available. Further, the bids are managed by automation, and we manage what we feed it: the composition of the products in the campaign, segmentation, minus words. Fair limit: no one can guarantee a share of impressions or a specific position of a card in a product block, because this is an auction in which your price is compared with someone else's at the time of the request.
Submit your store address and Merchant Center access if you already have an account.
The answer is an estimate of the share of the catalog ready for display, a list of system data defects with the scope of each, and a scheme for segmenting campaigns for your assortment.
From measured casesMeasurement 08/01/2026: 115,456 product items, confirmed by two independent methods with a discrepancy of 2.4%
There is no price list on the site on purpose: the same work differs several times over between two clients, and a “from” figure explains nothing in that case. First a free audit — we count your pages, duplicates and speed — then we name the sum and the deadline and fix both in the contract.
