Setting up Google Ads for an online store is not about "creating a campaign", but about creating an account based on the structure of your directory: a campaign for a category, a group for an intention, an ad for the page where the click should lead. Next is the measurement without which the campaign learns on clicks instead of orders. We conduct weekly: we clean search queries, transfer the budget between categories by margin, stop what spends and does not sell. Before launch, we measure for free whether the store is ready to accept paid traffic.

What we do not promise
What's included
Complete list of work and what you get as a result
We collect commercial semantics under categories and product groups - it becomes clear for which requests you already have a page, and for which it will have to be created
We are building an account structure: a campaign per category, a group per intention - the budget is visible in terms of product lines, not in one amount per month
We write ads with prices, delivery terms and benefits that are actually on the site — the discrepancy between the ad and the page burns a click even to the cart
We start a starter package of negative words and clean the report on search queries every week - costs for queries without any order stop accumulating quietly
We connect extensions: links to sections, clarifications, prices, phone number - the ad takes up more space in the issue for the same rate
We adjust events and goals so that the campaign learns on the order, not on the click - this is the difference between cheap traffic and cheap order
We divide the budget between categories according to the margin, and not equally - the money goes where the order leaves the profit
We conduct weekly: bids, requests, announcements, stopping what does not work - the account is not configured once and forever
We submit a report once a month: expenses, orders, order value by category - you can argue with such a document, and this is its main property

Situations where this service delivers results
Scenario 1 of 4
The catalog and demand are already there, but you can't wait six months for organics
Search ads don't create demand - they take what's already in the auction and show you on launch day. This is its strong point and immediately its limit: the budget is turned off - the shows are over. The working design is paid search for the categories that bring in money now, and parallel work on organics for the same categories.
We'll review your situation in a free audit
Scenario 2 of 4
The product is seasonal and the demand window is short
Air conditioners in July, heaters in October, school in August. Organics for such a window does not have time to speed up, paid search is activated within a day. There is one limitation: the algorithm needs two to three weeks of data to stop guessing, so we collect seasonal campaigns before the season, and not in its first week.
Scenario 3 of 4
They started it themselves, spent the budget and stopped it
The most common reason is that the campaign was optimized for a click, because the order event did not exist in the account, and Google honestly brought the cheapest clicks. The second most frequent traffic was sent to the main page instead of the category. Both things can be seen within an hour of analyzing the account. It is not visible otherwise: whether the orders were actually, if the measurement did not stand.
Scenario 4 of 4
The account is maintained by another contractor and the report does not explain anything
A typical picture is campaigns competing for the same query and a search report that hasn't been cleaned in years. We start with what is already collected and do not turn off what the order brings. We do not recommend transferring the account completely to a new one: the accumulated conversion statistics are reset along with the structure.
Free check of store readiness for paid traffic
Search advertising does not create demand - it leads a person to a page that is either already selling or not. Therefore, before launching, we measure not advertising, but the store: whether there is a place to drive traffic and whether it will be visible what came out of it.
What we measure
Are orders measured at all?Of the 33 sites we measured, six had no analytics counter, and another four had Universal Analytics, which Google turned off on July 1, 2023. To launch advertising in such conditions is to spend the budget blindly.
Landing pages for commercial inquiriesLet's see if there is a separate page for each group of requests, or if all traffic will have to be directed to the main page and search on the site.
Price and availability on the pageIf the ad has one price and the page has a different price, the paid click goes to the cart. We check the match between the page, markup and upload.
Landing page speedIn the measured sample, the spread of the first server response is from 126ms to 1544ms on the same platform. The second number means that part of the paid clicks will not wait for the page.
Commodity URLs that lead to the wrong placeAt one of the measured stores, we took 150 random product addresses from the sitemap: 50 of them (33%) returned 301 and all 50 led to a different position - a different size or color.
Current account, if it already existsThe structure of campaigns, negative keywords that eat up the budget without orders and whether campaigns compete with each other for one request.
What you get
Store Readiness Report: What's Stopping Ads from Working and How to Fix It.
List of categories that are suitable to launch now and those that are better not to advertise.
Assessment of the state of measurement: what is being collected and what is not.
Conversation for 40 minutes on the document.
Timeline: 3-5 working days
Why is it free
Because launching an advertisement for a store without measurement ends in a dispute about whether there were orders. It is cheaper for us to spend four days on verification than to prove numbers that no one collected.
What's next
After the inspection, we give an estimate separately for the preparation of the store and separately for the launch and management. If the store is not ready for advertising, we will say so directly and offer preparation first.
Short form: your contact and site URL
Contract, act and 30-day warranty
Every project gets a written contract: scope, deadlines, amount, acceptance procedure. After delivery — act and invoice, then 30 calendar days of warranty.
Sole proprietor & bank transfer
The contractor is a registered sole proprietor. Payment by invoice with closing documents.
Rights & access — yours
Code, design and materials transfer to you after full payment. Domain, hosting, repository and analytics are registered to you.
Client portal instead of email chains
During the project you get access to a portal: contracts, invoices, acts and project status in one place.
European clients
Among our work — projects for Norway, Bulgaria, Moldova and Spain.
Verifiable numbers
Every case in the portfolio comes with a link to a live site and a technical measurement.
Audit first, then pricing
There is no price list on the site intentionally: the scope of the same work differs multiples between clients.
We say "no" when unsure
If the task isn't ours or the deadline is unrealistic — we tell you upfront.
What affects the price
Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently
Number of categories in the runThe two categories are one framework, one ad set, and one request cleanup cycle. Twenty - twenty sets, and each one must be conducted every week. This is where the difference between the estimate limits is, not the "difficulty of setup."
Measurement statusLive GA4 with cart and purchase events - we just connect. An empty site or dead property means a separate stage: container, events, reconciliation with real orders. In the B2B catalog of sewing parts we measured, the tag was there, and Google disabled the property on July 1, 2023.
Availability of landing pagesWhen there is a category or filter page under each group of requests, the work is reduced to layout. When there are none, a site task — a separate line of the estimate — is added to the ad.
Current account statusAn empty account is assembled from scratch according to the plan. An account with a three-year history, cross-campaigns and raw requests should be read first, and these are separate days. But there are accumulated conversion statistics, which is a pity to lose.
Languages and regionsOne language version is one set of campaigns. Two languages mean double ads and separate negative words: the same product in different languages attracts different output and different price per click.
Driving frequencyThe weekly cycle is basic. Stores with a rapidly changing assortment and constant promotions need daily control of rates - this is more hours, and it is a separate line in the contract.
Cases
Tasks and results in numbers — all metrics measured by us
online store of professional cosmetics, catalog 5,561 items — our external technical dimension
Task
Assess whether there is room to enable paid traffic on categories.
Solution
External detour: calculation of the catalog by regular search of the platform, response time measurements, search for measurement tags in the markup, checking of the site map and product export.
Result
Catalog 5,561 products — 55 pages of 100 items plus 61 for the last one. First server response 801.2ms with 153.8KB markup. The main thing for advertising: there is no counter in the markup - no tag manager, no gtag, no pixel, that is, no order from a paid click would be recorded. The sitemap and product upload give 200 with an empty body, so trade campaigns are not possible here until the feed is fixed. Measured on 07/31/2026. What the method did not show: how many orders the store actually receives - no one, including the owner, can see this without a counter.
underwear retail store, catalog of over 110,000 items — our external technical dimension
Task
Check where a click on a product address actually leads before paying for that click.
Solution
A sample of 150 random product addresses of the site map with verification of the response code of each, separate measurements of the response time of the main, category and card.
Result
50 addresses out of 150 (33%) returned 301, and all 50 led to a different position — a different size or color: 70B instead of 70A, XL instead of L, black instead of white. On the scale of the catalog, this is about 37,000 addresses on which a paid click shows the wrong product. Second, the main page responds in 1,544.6 ms, compared to 391.4 ms for the card and 473.2 ms for the category - the most expensive page for traffic was the slowest. Measured on 07/31/2026.
The B2B spare parts catalog for industrial sewing machines is our external technical dimension
Task
Find out if it is possible to teach campaigns on orders with the available measurement.
Solution
Reading the markup for measurement tags and their configs, response time measurements.
Result
In the markup, the gtag.js connected with the config to ID UA-133384797-1 is Universal Analytics, which was disabled by Google on July 1, 2023. There is no GA4 feature at all: no data is collected for three years, although the tag is visible on the page and gives the impression of working analytics. First server response 388.1ms - speed is not the problem. Measured on 07/31/2026. Conclusion for advertising: campaigns can only be enabled after starting GA4 and events, otherwise the algorithm has nothing to rely on.

Process steps
Transparent stages with approval at every step
Total duration:10–25 days
1
Store verification and access
3-5 working days
We see whether the orders are measured, whether there is room for traffic and what the existing account shows. Here we take access to Google Ads, GA4 and the tag manager. If the store is not ready for paid traffic, we say so here, and not in the first report.
2
Account semantics and structure
3-5 working days
We divide requests by categories and intentions, sift out informational ones, make a "request → page" map. The output is a scheme of campaigns and groups, agreed before the budget appears in it.
3
Measurement
2-4 working days
Tag manager container, shopping cart and shopping events in GA4, import of conversions in Ads, reconciliation with real orders in a few days. It runs parallel to the previous stage, so it adds little to the overall term.
4
Ads and campaign compilation
3-5 working days
Texts for each group with prices and conditions that are available on the site, extensions, a starting package of minus words, geography and schedule of screenings, starting allocation of the budget by marginality.
5
Start-up and first cleaning cycle
5-10 working days
The first clicks come on the day of launch, but the first two or three weeks are about collecting searches and cutting off excess, not growth. We look at the query report every other day, cut the garbage, edit bids and landing pages.
6
Management and monthly report
weekly, report once a month
Then the weekly cycle: requests, bids, announcements, stops. Once a month, a document with expenses, orders and order value by category - and a decision on where to transfer the next month's budget.
Technologies & integrations
What we build on and what it connects to
Stack
Google Ads — the auction itself and all statistics; but conversions there are calculated by the date of the click, not the order, so they do not coincide with the checkout day by day
The search query report is the main source of negative keywords; Google hides some of the queries as rare, so there won't be a complete list
GA4 and Google Tag Manager — order events without editing the store code; blockers and consent mode cut some of the events, so GA4 gives trend, not bookkeeping
Google Ads Editor — bulk edits offline; export overwrites what has been in the interface since the last download
Keyword Planner — pre-launch demand assessment; frequencies are grouped and rounded, the order forecast is not based on them
Automatic rules — stop overspending at night and on weekends; the rule does not understand the context, so we set the limits conservatively
Integrations
GA4
Google Tag Manager
Google Search Console
Google Merchant Center
CRM for order reconciliation

Search campaigns vs. shopping campaigns
How this option differs from the alternative
Shopping campaignsOur approach
What does a person see?a card with a photo, name and price from your cargo shipmenttext ad with titles, description and extensions
What is needed at the starta valid feed and a moderated Merchant Center accountlanding pages for groups of requests and customized measurement
What requests does it takerequests with the name and model of a specific productcategorical and clarifying: "buy a high-pressure washer"
Text managementminimal: everything is drawn from the fields of the feedcomplete: we write the titles, description and extensions ourselves
Launch queuethe second — after the feed is made and agreed with the prices on the websitethe first — works on the current directory
What we need from you
We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance
1Access to a Google Ads account or consent to create a new one for your company.
2Access to GA4 and tag manager — custom optimization is impossible without them.
3The monthly budget you are willing to spend on clicks and the order cost limit.
4Marginality by product group — otherwise, the budget is divided randomly.
5The list of categories that cannot be advertised: promotional balances, goods to order.
6A person from your side who confirms whether the order has reached payment.
If something is missing — let us know, we'll help you gather it or do it as a separate task.
FAQ
Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers
How much budget do you need to start advertising?
The question is not the absolute amount, but whether it is enough for a statistically meaningful number of orders per month. If the budget gives five orders, the algorithm has nothing to learn from, and any optimization turns into guesswork. We calculate this from your average margin and order value limit - and tell you honestly if the amount is not enough for the selected number of categories. Then it is better to advertise two categories normally, than twenty a little bit at a time.
Why do you insist on pre-launch analytics?
Because without it, the campaign is optimized for clicks, not orders, and these are different things. In the sample of 33 sites we measured, six had no counter at all, and four had Universal Analytics turned off on July 1, 2023 — meaning they haven't collected data there for years, even though the tag is visible in the code. On another site, the tag manager's inline snippet was self-blocking: the exit condition compared the identifier with itself, so the return was always triggered and the container was never loaded. Such things are found in an hour of inspection, and cost the entire advertising budget.
Can you drive traffic to the main page?
You can, but it's almost always more expensive. A person is looking for a specific thing, gets to the shop window and has to look a second time - part of it goes exactly at this step. There is also a technical side: in the measured underwear store, the main page gives the first response in 1,544.6 ms compared to 391.4 ms on the product card, that is, the most expensive page for traffic turned out to be the slowest on the site. We lead to a category or to a page under a filter. If there are no required landings, let's say before the launch, and not after the first report.
We already have campaigns run by another contractor - what do you do?
First, we read what is collected there, and do not break what the order gives. A typical finding is campaigns competing for the same query and a search report that hasn't been cleaned in years. We do not advise you to completely transfer the account to a new one: together with the structure, the accumulated conversion statistics are lost, and the training starts from scratch. If the account is registered to the contractor, and not to you, this is a separate conversation — and it is better to start it before the relationship breaks down.
Do you guarantee the order quantity?
No, and anyone who guarantees either doesn't understand the mechanics of the auction or is pricing the risk. We fix other things: account structure, customized measurement, regularity of work with requests and a report showing every hryvnia of expenses by category. We give the forecast after the first month of data — when there is something to build it on. And one more honest limitation: advertising leads a person to a page that is either already selling or not; if the price is higher than the market or the product is out of stock, the paid click will simply show it to the buyer faster.
How is search advertising different from shopping campaigns?
The search one shows a text ad in response to a query, the trading one shows a card with a photo and price from your product shipment. For a store, a normal connection is both together: sales take requests with the name of the model, searchers work on categorical and clarifying ones. But trading is impossible without a valid feed and a moderated Merchant Center account. In the measured cosmetics store, the sitemap and feed give 200 with an empty body - there sales will not start at all until the export is fixed. Therefore, the queue is usually as follows: search, then feed, then shopping.
How quickly is the first result visible?
The first clicks — on the day of launch, the first meaningful conclusions — after two or three weeks, when enough search queries have accumulated for cleaning. The first month is mostly data collection and cutting off excess, not growth. We say this before launch so there is no expectation of sales from day one.
Can I advertise the entire catalog at once?
Technically yes, practically it is the most expensive way to collect statistics. The budget is spread across categories with different margins and different competition, and a month later you have twenty campaigns without data instead of two with data. Our recommendation: start with two or three categories where the margin is the highest and the landing pages are in order, wait for the first orders and expand to neighboring ones. Categories with promotional balances and goods to order are requested to be named in advance and will not be accepted at launch.
Submit your store address and access to Google Ads if you already have an account.
The response is a list of categories eligible to run now, measurement status, and what's preventing the ad from running. If the store is not ready for paid traffic, you will hear it in the first email.
There is no price list on the site on purpose: the same work differs several times over between two clients, and a “from” figure explains nothing in that case. First a free audit — we count your pages, duplicates and speed — then we name the sum and the deadline and fix both in the contract.
