Local advertising: when the customer should come to you

Local ads on Google are campaigns that are shown to people who are physically near your location and lead them to a call or route instead of a shopping cart. It differs from the usual search in three settings: display by presence, schedule according to the schedule of a specific address, and linked company profile. Before launch, we check the address, phone number and hours of operation on the website, in the markup and in the profile free of charge. Advertising replicates the data it finds — along with the errors in it.

Situations where this service delivers results

Scenario 1 of 4

A store or showroom where people go to buy goods

A person does not read a longread - he looks to see if it is far and open. The local campaign shows both answers right in the ad: the distance and address are pulled by the company profile, the hours are the display schedule. If you have one dot, it's the easiest and fastest launch in all of contextual advertising.

Tasks and results in numbers — all metrics measured by us

online tactical gear store with a physical point is our external technical dimension

Task
Check whether the local part of the site is ready for advertising with the address: machine-readable coordinates, schedule and contacts, and whether there is something to count calls.
Solution
Analysis of the structured data of the main and the list of connected advertising and analytical systems — from the outside, without access to the office.
Result
Nine JSON-LD types on the main, including Store, Place, GeoCoordinates, PostalAddress, OpeningHoursSpecification, and ContactPoint: address, coordinates, and hours are passed unambiguously, not text in the footer. GTM, GA4, Google Ads and Binotel telephony live nearby - there is something to record a call here. Defect found: language markup declared as uk-UA and uk-RU when lang="ru" on the root version. Measured on 07/31/2026. What the external measurement does not show: how much an office visit costs.

the official store of garden equipment with a pick-up point in Kyiv is our external technical dimension

Task
See if the local data of the site matches the actual state of the point - exactly what breaks advertising with an address.
Solution
Verification of structured data and working statuses of order receipt methods.
Result
Six JSON-LD types, including Store, Place, and GeoCoordinates, are the richest local markup of the lot. And then there is a discrepancy with reality: the pickup point on the street. Mykilsko-Slobidska, 4D is marked as closed since 03/23/2026, although the address still lives in the markings and contacts. An ad with such an address leads a person to a closed door, and a response follows. Measured on 07/31/2026.

the clinic of plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine is our external technical dimension

Task
Assess whether it is even possible to count calls from advertising: for the clinic, these are calls and appointments, not views.
Solution
Validation of structured data and actual load counters in the page code.
Result
Ten types of JSON-LD, among them MedicalClinic, Physician and PostalAddress, a sitemap for 89 addresses, a prerender for a bot in 145ms — the local part is done neatly. But the inline GTM snippet is self-blocking: the exit condition compares the container ID with itself and always fires, so the container is not loaded and conversions are not counted in any way. The consent mode is denied by default. Running ads before the measurement is fixed means paying for clicks and not knowing anything about them. Measured on 07/31/2026.
What's included

Complete list of work and what you get as a result

  • Display by actual presence instead of the typical "presence or interest" - ads are seen by those who are nearby, not those who were once interested in the city
  • A separate campaign or group for each point: the report shows which address brings appeals and which spends the budget
  • Linking the company profile to the advertising account and extension with the address - the distance to you and the route button appear in the output
  • The schedule of shows according to the actual schedule of each point, including lunch and weekends - there will be no clicks during the hours when no one answers
  • Radius bid adjustments: The closer a person is, the more we're willing to pay for their click
  • Exclusion of regions and areas outside the service area, with a separate list of exception cities where you still go
  • Ads with landmarks, parking, pickup and hours — a person understands logistics even before a click
  • Call, route building and address click events in GA4 and import them into the advertising cabinet as conversions
  • Call tracking with number separation by points, if the main channel is a phone
  • Reconciliation of address, telephone and graphics between the site, markup and company profile before the start of shows
  • A monthly report with a breakdown by points and types of actions instead of a single number of "addresses"
When this service isn't right

What's not included — so there are no surprises at delivery

  • Advertising budget: money for clicks is debited from your Google account
  • Working with reviews and reputation in the company profile
  • Registration and confirmation of business in cards, if documents are required for this
  • Promises of a place in the local issuing block
  • Offline print and outdoor advertising
Process steps

Transparent stages with approval at every step

Total duration:7–18 days

  1. Local data reconciliation and accesses

    2-4 working days

We compare the address, phone number and schedule between the site, markings and company profile, record the status of each point: working, temporarily closed, closed. At the same time, we receive rights in the advertising account, GA4 and profile.

  2. Geography and campaign structure

    1-3 working days

We coordinate with you the service area in words, not a circle on the map, and only after that we divide it into radii and lists of districts. Each point gets its own group; out-of-zone regions go into elimination immediately, not after the first score.

  3. Measurements before the first showing

    1-3 working days

We set the events for the call, the construction of the route and the click on the address, we check that they reach GA4 and are imported into the office as conversions. We check it by a live click from the phone, and not by the presence of a code on the page.

  4. A collection of campaigns and ads

    2-4 working days

Texts with orientation and conditions, extension with address, schedule under the schedule of each point, adjustment of rates by radius. We link the company profile to the account - without this, the distance and the route button will not appear in the ad.

  5. Launch and first week of supervision

    1-4 working days

We look at where clicks physically come from and where they turn into calls. At the start, we take the radius narrower than desired and expand it according to the data — it is always more expensive to narrow it down after a month of spending on distant areas.

Free local data check before launch

Local ads show address, schedule and distance. If this data is different between the site, the markup and the company profile, the ad will successfully lead the person to the wrong place at the wrong time. The verification takes a few days and costs nothing.

What we measure

  • Consistency of address, telephone and scheduleWe found a site where there was one phone in the cap, and another in the structured layout, and a page with a day off in the schedule with seven working days in the layout.
  • Company profile status in mapsFullness, relevance, presence of points that no longer work. Advertising on maps is based on the profile itself.
  • Local marking on the siteType of business, coordinates, hours of operation, postal address. The stores we measured do not always have this set.
  • Real service geographyWhere are you going or where are you coming from? Often the radius in the office is wider than the actual work area — and the budget goes to other people's areas.
  • How calls and routes are fixed nowCalling and building a route are the main actions of local advertising. If they are not counted, it will be nothing to rate the channel.
  • Pages under pointsDoes each address have its own page with a map and schedule, or is everything condensed into one line of contacts.

What you get

  • Table of discrepancies in local data between site, markup and company profile.
  • Evaluation of the actual display area versus the one that should be adjusted.
  • List of things to fix before launch.
  • Conversation for 30 minutes on the document.

Timeline: 2-4 working days

Why is it free

Because some of the fixes here are padding, not development, and we'd rather say that right away than sell it as a project.

What's next

Next, there is an estimate for bringing local data to order and separately for launching and running campaigns.

Short form: your contact and site URL

  • Contract, act and 30-day warranty

Every project gets a written contract: scope, deadlines, amount, acceptance procedure. After delivery — act and invoice, then 30 calendar days of warranty.

  • Sole proprietor & bank transfer

The contractor is a registered sole proprietor. Payment by invoice with closing documents.

  • Rights & access — yours

Code, design and materials transfer to you after full payment. Domain, hosting, repository and analytics are registered to you.

  • Client portal instead of email chains

During the project you get access to a portal: contracts, invoices, acts and project status in one place.

  • European clients

Among our work — projects for Norway, Bulgaria, Moldova and Spain.

  • Verifiable numbers

Every case in the portfolio comes with a link to a live site and a technical measurement.

  • Audit first, then pricing

There is no price list on the site intentionally: the scope of the same work differs multiples between clients.

  • We say "no" when unsure

If the task isn't ours or the deadline is unrealistic — we tell you upfront.

Did not find your case?

Describe how it works on your side — we will tell you whether “Google Local Ads” fits and what it means in your situation. No brief and no call: one question, one answer.

What affects the price

Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently

  • How many points do you have? The volume of work is determined not by the complexity of the cabinet, but by the number of addresses. One point — one structure, one schedule, one set of ads. Twelve branches—twelve schedules, the same number of radii, and a report that must remain readable.
  • State of local data at startIf the address, phone number and hours match everywhere, the reconciliation takes hours. If the company's profile is not confirmed, the coordinates are on a nearby street, and on the website the address lives only in text in the footer, a separate block of work is added to the launch - and it is this that is usually longer than campaign settings.
  • The width and shape of geographyThe radius around the point and the list of service areas are different in terms of time-consuming things. The second requires a list of settlements agreed with you and exclusions for neighboring areas.
  • How they address youApplication from the form is considered a standard event. A call is not: an event is required for pressing a number, and to know which point was called, call tracking with number substitution is required. This is a separate line of work.
  • How many versions of adsTwo languages or separate texts for those nearby and for those twenty kilometers away multiply copywriting. At the same time, the campaigns themselves are not complicated.
  • Shall we continue?One-time start-up, monthly maintenance: geography review based on actual requests, cleaning of areas without calls, schedule update after schedule change. Local data ages quietly.
Technologies & integrations

What we build on and what it connects to

Stack

  • Google Ads is the only platform where geotargeting is linked to company profile and maps; limitation: the display in the card block depends on the profile, not on the bet
  • Geotargeting by presence - we turn off the typical "presence or interest", because the second part brings those who are only planning a trip
  • Google Business Profile — the source of the address, schedule and distance in the ad; without a verified profile, the address extension simply does not work
  • Address extension and route button
  • Adjust bids by radius - the tool is rough: it changes the price of a click, but does not guarantee an impression in this particular circle
  • The schedule of displaying ads according to the schedule of each point
  • GA4 and Google Tag Manager — call, route and address click events; limitations: blockers and consent mode cut off some data, this is a trend, not accounting
  • Call tracking with number change — when you need to know exactly which point was called

How this option differs from the alternative

Who sees the adthose who are physically in the zone: presence is explicitly enabled
What does a person see?address, distance and route button from company profile
When is shownduring the working hours of a specific point
The main actioncall or route and both are counted
What can be seen in the reportthe cost of applying to each address separately
Who does not suitonline business without a departure point and zone
What we need from you

We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance

  1. Exact addresses, coordinates and graphs of all points are exact, not approximate: advertising will show what you give.
  2. Access to the company profile in maps or the right to confirm it.
  3. Access to Google Ads and GA4 with edit rights, not view rights.
  4. The actual service area in words: where you leave and where you refuse.
  5. The status of each point for today: working, temporarily closed, permanently closed.
  6. Who takes the calls at each point and at what time — the show schedule is built from this answer.

If something is missing — let us know, we'll help you gather it or do it as a separate task.

FAQ

Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers

How does display by presence differ from display by interest in the region?

By default, the system rotates ads to those who are physically in the region, and to those who were simply interested in it: read about the trip, looked for a hotel, looked at the map. For the point with the door, the second group is almost always superfluous - it will not come today. We leave the presence. This setting lives inside the geotargeting settings, it's not visible from the first screen of the campaign, which is why it's been the default in most accounts for years.

We have three points with different schedules - one campaign or three?

Three groups at least, and often three campaigns — if the points have different budgets or different competition. The reason is simple: the shared budget flows to places where clicks are cheaper, and not to places where there is more profit. We list the addresses separately, and only bring them back in the report so that the cost of each request is visible.

How to understand that the channel is working?

By calls, route constructions and point-to-point appeals. Not by position in the block of cards: it is different for each user, because it depends on where he is standing at that moment. Therefore, we put the measurement on the first display. In the clinic we measured on 07/31/2026, the GTM snippet self-locked due to an error in the exit condition - the container did not load and no conversions were counted. Advertising in this state spends money absolutely silently.

The website already has an address and markup - do you still need a company profile?

For advertising with an address — yes. The distance to you, the route button and the map view are taken from the profile and the site does not replace it. Markup does another job: aligns data and removes inconsistencies between sources. Both are needed, but if you have to choose one to run, it's the profile.

Our point is temporarily not working. What to do with her?

Put the same status in three places: on the site, in the markup and in the profile - and put a pause on the group of this address. An example from our dimension 07/31/2026: In a garden equipment store, the pick-up point is marked as closed from 03/23/2026, and this is done correctly, but the address itself continues to live in structured data and contacts. It is enough for the announcement to lead a person to a closed door.

What radius to set at the start?

The one from which they are going to you already today. This is a question for you, not for the map: see where your current customers are coming from. Our recommendation is to start narrower than desired and expand based on actual hits. The expansion is done in one evening, and a month of expenses for distant areas is not returned.

Is it possible to show only during working hours?

It is possible and almost always worth it, especially if the main action is a call. A click at two in the morning for a service that picks up the phone from nine o'clock is paid the same as a daytime call. We put the schedule under the actual schedule of each point, including lunch. We discuss the weekend separately: sometimes it makes sense to leave the show and collect applications for Monday, but this is a decision, not a default setting.

Will you show your case for local campaigns with cabinet numbers?

Not yet, and let's say it straight. We don't have the figures from the advertising account for local campaigns - costs, calls and the cost of the application for the confirmed period - so we don't draw them. All three case studies on this page are our external technical measurement as of 07/31/2026: state of local data, markups and measurements on live sites. This is verifiable by anyone, unlike a screenshot of the cabinet without context.

Submit your addresses, schedules, and drop-off zone, and we'll check them against what Google currently sees.

The answer is a table of discrepancies between the site, markup and company profile, an estimate of the real display area and a list of what needs to be fixed before the first click. If you do not need local advertising, you will hear about it in the same letter.

There is no price list on the site on purpose: the same work differs several times over between two clients, and a “from” figure explains nothing in that case. First a free audit — we count your pages, duplicates and speed — then we name the sum and the deadline and fix both in the contract.
